Reliable substance identification

The Itemiser® 5X is the latest and most advanced explosives and drug trace detection device in Rapiscan Systems’ established Itemiser family. It can detect a wide range of narcotics and explosives in the nanogram range. Ionization takes place via UV radiation (non-radioactive) and is not subject to any restrictions by a supervisory authority.
Substances are identified by comparing the measured values with optimized, integrated detection libraries and advanced software algorithms. Areas of application are passenger, personnel and cargo/goods checks. The Itemiser® 5X meets the requirements of the US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and is used as an approved technology in air cargo screening.

A sampling rod is available to prevent decontamination. With the innovative repeating function and as an extended arm of the operator, it prevents contact with the sampler strip or the object surface. It also helps to maintain physical distance from the person being checked. The easy-to-use counting wheel documents the sampling results.
